Home office guide lines state you get 10% of the speed limit plus two. There will be people along here soon saying their mate’s brothers got done at 2 mph over the limit but I have never seen any in the flesh.
The tolerance is down to the location, fatal’s on that road ( any part of it ) etc etc.
How fast do you think you were doing ? What is the limit ?
On another point why when the rest of the police force is on minimum strength to save money on a Bank Holiday are these people allowed out and paid Double time ???
Limit is 40, speedo (which I know reads high V gps) was showing 50The tolerance is down to the location, fatal’s on that road ( any part of it ) etc etc.

If they targetted you, then its going to be close - even allowing for 10% plus 2 and a bit of speedo over-reading.
They have an obligation to serve a Notice of Intended Prosecution on the DVLA registered keeper within 14 days. If that's you and your details are correct on your V5, then it might be an uncomfortable fortnight waiting to see what drops through the letterbox..
As an aside, the ACPO guidelines do not preclude enforcement being taken at speeds below 10% plus 2mph - they actually say that the minimum action which should be taken at this threshold is the issue of a fixed penalty notice and not a warning.

Think I may have been scammered on Sunday doing 79 on a quiet downhill NSL dual carriageway.
Saw the car in front of me brake first, and then I see the van at the bottom of the hill.
I guess will have to wait 14 days to see if any nasty letters arrive.

So how does the operator form the prior opinion that you are speeding before hitting the trigger? Isn't the camera meant to confirm his opinion that the vehicle is speeding? Looks as if the cameras says you are speeding and he then hits the trigger.'Here he comes, here he comes, come to daddy.....CLICK
