Any difference in terms of using whilst driving?

I know mobile phones are not allowed, but does the law state "mobile phones" specifically, or is it worded to include walkie talkies???

The definition of phone in the regs is based on the frequency of the communication. It pretty much nails phones only.

Walkie talkies still covered by "not in proper control" and "careless/dangerous driving".

I asked similar ages ago. The ban refers to cellular devices only.

....which is how it should be in the case of mobile phones IMHO.

Some of the distinctions that are being made between mobiles phones, CB radios and various other communication devices, seem to me to amount to nothing more than ridiculous attempts to support fiddled rules and irrational law making.

Did anybody else see that Traffic Cops programme a couple of weeks or so ago featuring GMP? There we had the police driver engaged in a very high speed pursuit (said to be up to 130 mph) while he was using a hand held phone or radio device, and at the same time his colleague was chirruping away to somebody else on another phone or radio!

Best wishes all,
Dave.
