I'm (potentially) in the sh1t.
I haven't assaulted anyone, or done anything dishonest (in fact, quite the opposite on the dishonesty front).
I shall tell all when it's (eventually and hopefully) resolved. There is the potential for the matter in question to go sub judice in the not too distant future.
I may change my name by Deed Poll to Peter Ward (but only while I'm at work...

Glad everything that we didn't know about turned out ok in the end
OK, here's the scoop:I was Divisional nights cover DC a while back. Reoport comes in of "intruders on" at a no-mark local theme park, initially reported as about ten, going in and out over the fence. The park has a fairley lengthy perimeter to cover, so I shout up the radio that I'll make as well (in a plain Astra).
En route, I trigger a Gatso - 55 in a 30 (I'm advanced and TPAC trained), but it was safe to go at that speed at that particular time: wide dry road, no other traffic (ped or veh), clear light night, lights on on vehicle.
I let control know I'd triggered the Gatso, filled in the vehicle log book at the end of the shift (the only person to have done so for about three weeks either side), and e-mailed admin to give them a heads up that an NIP was winging their way, and I was the driver.
I duly got the NIP, claimed my exemption by filling in two forms and sending them off. I thought I'd put enough info on the forms, and had certainly not tried to hide the fact I'd triggered the camera.
I thought nothing further of it until I had to go and see a senior officer about it, and having previous experience of how various organisations work, I was concerned in case my claim for exemption wasn't supported. However, after fully explaining the circumstances, I was supported, and the NIP binned.
