I suspect most of you have read this:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/lancashire/3047293.stm

Try reading this as well:

Where you will find it says that Mr Justice Owen (the judge mentioned in the article) retired from his post of Justice of the High Court Bench in October 2000.

Can anybody shed any light on all this? How come a retired judge is supposedly hearing an appeal? Is there a "wind-up" going on? Are the media putting out disinformation on behalf of HMG?

So many questions, but no time at the present. There's a couple of pints down the pub going sour with my name on 'em ...!

Back later to do a bit more research - if someone else hasn't beaten me to it

Mr Justice Owen I and Mr Justice Owen II, perhaps?

It does happen.

Take Professor David Begg (spit) and Professor David Begg (hurrah), or Dr Patrick Moore (the stargazer) and Dr Patrick Moore (founder member of Geenpeace, who got out when the loony left hijacked it).

And there must be thousands of Michael Jacksons (groan).

But, with a bit of luck, there's only one (hurrah) Johnny Prescott..............
