Another 20mph in a town.

http://www.ashford.gov.uk/news_and_events/latest_n...

http://www.kent.gov.uk/publications/transport-and-...

and http://www.ashfordsfuture.org/ travelling -> Roads -> ring road.

"Currently around 70% of traffic using the Ring Road is ‘through traffic’"
and they made it 20mph. Any know how well this is working today?

More fuel wasted, working hours wasted, frustrated drivers, pollution, congestion - the plan continues...

I was there last Monday whilst they were doing the roadworks in preparation for it. Made it truly dreadful, and it was gridlocked. It took me 40 minutes to get from one side of Ashford to the other!

Haven't a clue what the point is

to justify congestion charging in a nutshell!

create congestion, then charge for the "manufactured" problem, so simple eh?, as a matter of fact it is so simple People do not see it happening

My wife went to Ashford on Friday, and has yet to stop moaning about it!

It took 25 minutes to get from one side of town to the other round the ring road! Used to take a couple of minutes!

Typical highway officer approach, break something that works!

As I read from www.ashfordsfuture.org

The Ring Road will implement:
A reduction in traffic speeds to 20mph or less
...

Definitely not! Its full time, and is truly awful. I really don;t know what the planners were thinking off.

Then they must be truly stupid. Either that or they plan to bring in excuse for congestion charging. (Kendal = nightmare still. I gather plans afoot to make cars/motorbikes/vans/HGV go around the market town of Bolton in GMR (Greater Manchester "Republic&quotwink sprawl in one direction. The other would be empty apart from buses & bicycles. Not rockety science to work out that gridlock & danger occur there as result rolleyes)

It just seemed logical to think this was part of the "Tour" accommodation.
