Two very obvious and visible scameras, facing either way in the centre of the dual carriageway. 30 mph limit. They look smaller than normal ones, more squat? There's a yellow plastic sign tied underneath them which states something along the lines of "Safety Camera under test". Been there perhaps a week, the scameras for much longer.

This morning at around 9.15 the scameras were flashing everyone, going in either direction. And this in heavy traffic.

Anyone any clues? Seems a bit bloody silly if they are being tested to gun every passing motorist, who with absolute inevitability will glance at the speedo to check, thus being totally distracted from the job in hand for ten metres or so, whilst travelling at a speed 100% likely to cause severe bruising to children or bodywork.
