Put my laser detector on me bike today and went for a ride.
Laser detector went beserk every 2 seconds so unpluged it!
Guess what? came across a little white van with a little mad hiding behind it

In his hand he had what looked like a big square gun. his head was jamed right up against it, not sure if he was sighting or just trying to hide.

Would that have been a laser gun? he had a look of extreme disapointment because I wasnt speeding

That would have been a laser gun, as the Road Angel gives an immediate full alert when it detects scatter from a Mobile Laser. The alert only sounds while it detects laser scatter as it did in your case, and that is why it was alerting every few seconds.

It's great to hear the Road Angel saved your Licence, Pesty

It would be best not to unplug it next time though

How far away was the white van when you were first alerted ?

This is fairly common with the Road Angel - either try again - is often cause the jack isnt in properly or drop them a line at blackspot

Sorry leadfoot I dont think I explained myself very well.
I unplugged the laser sanner and put it in my pocket by the end of my street.
I came a cross the van about 10 miles later.
So I cant confirm weather teh laser detector works or not just yet.

sorry for any confusion.

Dontlift is correct. Believe they are having some kinda compatibility/jack plug problem with the Laser attachment, but give it a couple of tries.

As for the laser van down the road. I believe they call that 'sods law'...

That's amazing, it picked up the scamera van from 10 miles away while it was in your pocket

Seriously though, I do understand what you mean now.
I heard someone say that Blackspot are bringing out a modified laser module, but not sure if they will upgrade our existing ones ?

I've also experienced this problem trying to use the LaserAlert on my bike - according to Blackspot, it's a problem caused by excessive electrical 'noise' generated by some bikes. They told me they've sourced an alternative LaserAlert which isn't affected and will be available in a few weeks. Suggest you contact them and ask for a replacement when available
