Scenario... 9am 17thMay. Mate and his wife go past camera in temp 50 limit while leaving on a weeks holiday. It flashed and he jokes to Misses that she'll get a ticket in the post. On return there's a ticket sure enough, but dated 5.20pm 12th May. same location but diferent direction. At 5.20pm 12/5/2003 mate was picking up his wife from work in the car alleged to have been speeding,( many witnesses ) and at 6pm he was at a local council meeting ( many witnesses ) . The offence happend 70 miles from where he was.. What to do now ?? Oh and he's aware of the not signing thing so will do that as a matter of course

So long as he can proove his & the cars whereabouts then go to court and sort it there.

Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty.

First thing to do is to return the uncompleted NIP with a covering letter stating the situation as you explained it here. This statement should include a sentence along the lines of the impossibility of filling in the NIP because it was not your car.

I would have thought you should return the NIP with no ink on it whatsoever with a covering letter explaining that on the date in question you were miles away. This should be supported by a letter from a credible witness to your whereabouts.
