Hypothetically:

If you have a lot of cars through your possession, but you're not a registered car dealer, and you send back the tax on those cars, how many tax discs can you claim refunds on before the DVLA start asking questions about where you're getting the discs from??

i dont know but im sure there is sopmthing about you only being able to buy / sell so many cars in a year before the revenue start looking at you as a car dealer and want some tax from you.. and im sure tehy talk to the dvla...

I've stood in Reading VRO with a bag of 554 Tax Discs for refund processing before now so you should be fine...

I seem to remember a newspaper article about a man taken to court by tax man as a car dealer. Court ruled it was a hobby as he already had a full time job and sold the cars in his spare time.

I'm pretty sure it used to be 5 cars in a tax year (approximately 8+ years ago anyway).

That wouldn't stop them demanding the income tax from him if he was making profit on those above the allowed number.
