I advised that he should bite their arm off (being careful not to choke on the watch).
Bit keen. Have they got any evidence that will stand up in court ?Olf said:
I thought 86 was the breakpoint for a summons?
No - ACPO guidelines are 96 in a 70.Hence lots of locals setting the cruise at 95
- the very upper limit of a FPN.
Of course, the local coppers *have* got better things
to do than nick the world and his wife going about
their business.

I think the summons is at 96.
They can summons at any speed over the limit if they choose to, they don't 'have' to wait until 25mph over the limit.Best wishes all,
Dave.
I was caught Thursday evening about 6:30 on the A303 doing 95. The Police Chappy did seem a decent fellow tbh I almost thought he might have been a member on here (he spend ages showing me his laser had been calibrated and the radio's were turned off etc. telling me about how he reaserched sites on the interweb giving advice on how to get off) I was given 3 points and £60 sadly I was bang to rights so there is not a lot of point in contesting it - I was a bit relieved actually that it was 95 as I wasn't sure where he had clocked me and it could have been more.
Anyway the point of that is that he told me that the guidelines said that speeds of 96 and over are to be dealt with by court appearance in Hampyshire.

Not quite - he merely said it was a good idea to acceptthe offer.

We shouldn't challenge the law everytime
So where do new laws and modifications to existing lawscome from then ?
Thinking "outside the box" in the modern jargon.

Thinking outside of the box? Hardly. Trying to dodge the consequences of your actions more like.

Can't see the point in challenging everything just because.
I can. Being skeptical and asking questions is entirely reasonable.Ask any scientist.

And what's wrong with that ?your actions more like.
I see it as a chance to avoid paying sixty quid
into UK Gov coffers for an entirely reasonable and
prudent action.
As the very great LJK Setright said "Speed saves.
It saves life by saving time, which amounts to the
same thing".
He also said "There can be no law abiding driver
under the age of 55 who can have any idea what
it was like to drive at over 70 mph on UK
roads. It was practical, sensible and pleasant.
If you can forget Big Brother watching you,
it still is".

Fortunately there's plenty of people under as well as over 55 who understand that - and good luck to them all.
Enjoy yourselves while you still can, do it in the right places and stay safe, and try not to get caught. That's all there is to it IMHO.
Best wishes all,
Dave.
