Regularly in my area a rear window camera scamvan sits during rush hours (couple hrs before it leaves - I know because I go past it one way, couple hrs later I return and usually its just leaving).

Nothing wrong you would think but only really noticed recently it has 'orange' lights on roof and to the unsuspecting you'd think from a distance it was a builders/road maint. van.

Should it not have 'blue'?
It's well decked out with POLICE on van side (course, it's too late when you see this!).

And no, it ain't caught me - my licence is clean.
What pees me off is this is a 40 limit on a road that is straight for almost 1 mile so 'very' easy to trickle over limit and not endangering anyone.

My other point is (again, only really noticed recently) it is always parked in what I thought was a layby but actually it's a Bus Stop!
Is this on? Or can bib do as they please?
TIA

Blue lights are only for emergency vehicles. I can't see the need for a rapid response to snap some speeders

Ok fair enough. What about it sitting in a Bus Stop?

They don't deserve blue lights on top, they are not law enforcement but glorified civil servants with seemingly nothing better to do, it's not as if there are any real crimes in this fantastic country..........

If you think this is unfair, I seem to remember seeing an artical on police in Holland hiding speed cameras (no I will not refer to them as "safety" cameras !) in wheely bins, crazy Dutch b@stards

Dodgy scammer parking is fairly commonplace - clicky

It was probably just an ANPR van.

I was a bit worried a few weeks ago, as went past a side turning in NSL zone a bit fast, and saw a suspicious car driver pretending to read a map, then in the approaching 40 zone cars were flashing me, so braked to below the 40 limit, and saw the white Police van in a bus stop on my right. As I passed, could see the camera hatches at the rear, and guessed ANPR.
I thought the driver in the side turning might me be taking time measurements but never heard anything.
