PePiPoo.com IF you get a NIP.

God these threads are getting tedious, even more so when the OP doesn't even know that they have been caught....

Cumbria are pretty hot with the vans, and if you were doing that speed, you are more likely than not to have been caught.

If you get a NIP through the post, you should be able to go online to their website and see the photo.

Aye the Cumbria extorsion racket has been profiteering from that stretch of the M6 for many years. Tend to use the A6 more as the 60 NSL is a more appropriate maximum on that road than 70 on the M6.

What sort of time was the "possible" offence? Van wasn't there earlier on in the morning. Depressing if a CSCP van was operating BEFORE Jct 40 southbound though as you usually only see them at the signposted sites on the M6 (in spite of their "operate anywhere" policy these days). I do find though that there are only maybe 2 or 3 bridges where they could hide a van sufficiently well to catch someone who is really looking out for them (and I set the cruise control accordingly!).

I tend to agree that these days it's more relaxing to just use the A6 instead (it's usually deserted apart from the talivans (and a couple of oncoming drivers flashing their lights to warn you they are there!) and therefore easier to drive at non-endorsable speeds.

The "operate anywhere" policy really gets my goat though: even if you were to believe the SCPs spin on their KSI figures for the last couple of years, their results were obtained by operating the vans at (fairly) clearly signposted sites with schedules published on the internet. They would have us believe that the new policy of just parking up anywhere (they seem to like the most deserted, safe DC stretch of the A66 after Brough in particular) is aimed at "slowing people down" but any reasonable person can surely see that what they have actually decided is that they aren't catching enough people.

Makes the blood boil...
