Seatbelts and HGV's

Can anyone tell me if it is Illegal to Drive a 12tonne lorry(Rigid) without a seatbelt( if fitted ).
My company are telling me its Law and i am not sure they are right.
I know it didnt use to be when i took my Test but not sure now.
