Yes some very interesting statistics, speeding down 16% from 2001 to 2006, I wonder how many deaths that has saved.

N Yorks ( my big sister live in Dales )

They have similar problem in rural twisties with the numpty bikers rolleyes

they will not place fixed scams at danger points. Steve does not do this .. but some scams = I admit - OK . but far too many NOT. They same as in 1960s traps ... as in W" nice little earners rolleyes)

N Yorks had decent record under Stella. It will now change to match the norm of 10 K per day rolleyes

Co Durham was "exemplary" under Paul Garvin und despite one or two hiccups // Jon Stoddart retain the exemplary record for Durham by keeping to his "legacy" wink if you like wink as Durham's RPU still reportedly fair .. but reportedly very firm winkyikes

Penned by Philip Gwynne I expect, search on his name here and on Pepipoo for more tosh, the "newsletters" are packed full of self-serving rubbish and cherry-picked statistics.

Eg, in the latest one the headline is:

Newsletter said:
NUMBER OF SPEEDERS FALLS

The number of car drivers exceeding
the 30mph speed limit in Britain
has dropped from 65% in 2001 to
49% in 2006, reveals the
Department for Transport's 'Vehicle
Speeds in Great Britain 2006'
report.
...
It cherry picks a few other falls, but fails to mention that speeding levels have been virtually static or RISING on other road types and limits! This is almost certainly largely because built-up areas with 30mph limits have seen dramatic increases in congestion over the period.

"The number of car drivers exceeding the 30mph speed limit in Britain"

I would be bloody suprised if over the year that figure wasn't 100%

Great load of wanky stats.
