Or it could be just one side of a story from someone whos first though was to go to the papers.

I'm playing devils advocate but i've had numerous people, usually drunk, jump onto my bonnet when i'm moving slowly through the town centres.

I'd give them a ticket if they caused damage too.

Unless of course the car happens to be a lotus.

How did a Welsh criminal damage case end up in a London entertainment guide.?

Is the entertainment on offer in London really that boring?

There you go referring to that case. Now I read and commented early on in that case. I pointed out that until dmage could be proven to have been caused and without a report of damage from the owner or a means of finding that owner a prosecution is not possible. You will also find that on that thread an officer from the met has taken the case up in an attempt to deal. So before making comments like this know a little more about the situations rather than jumping on the band wagon

As for this case, sounds to me like drunk bloke kicks car, is arrested taken to hospital and then PND'd for criminal damage when sober but before having to be taken back to custody then drunk bloke decides to try to make up a story about being run over by police vehicle in an effort to avoid ticket.

Seen it a number of times.

However its more likely to be the drunk who is lying. Very few officers these days tell lies. Not worth it and people always come round again.

Drunk?

Where does it say that then?

Was he arrested for drink driving? Ummmmmm looks like assumptions are being made without finding out about the full facts again.

Arresting somebody for drink driving i would have thought would have been more important than a fine for £80 for denting a car thats just run into him.

Edited to say..........I watched "The Bill" the other night and there's a load of liers on there.
hehe

Bit of a raw nerve eh?

The main difference that I can see here is the guy with the broken foot got a ticket pretty much straight away, the other case has had to be prodded with a pointy stick.

If it was an injury RTA, or any accident involving a police driver, a more senior officer, at least a Sgt. would have had to investigate, and file a full report.
Whether this has happened or not, we do not know.
Officers do not deal with their own accidents.
It makes the chances of cover ups much less likely.
I speak as one who has been the driver and the investigator in (separate) POLAC's.

No the main difference is the officer was in a marked vehicle and it would appear witnessed the damage and knew who owned the car. the other involves an incident where no-one reported damage to the vehiclem the vehicle could be on any street in london and you cannot read the registration number. Now had a police officer seen them doing the offence then they also would have been dealt with in the same way or possibly police cautions.

Whats hits a raw nerve are your anti-bib postings all the time. Remind me what it is you do again?
