Hi All,

If any of our distinguished law enforcers are about, I'd appreciate some clarification; I think I got caught by a Camera van last monday.....and I remember reading on PH that the NIP needs to be served on the car's registered keeper within 14 days. Does this apply only to fixed GATSO/TRUVELO etc cameras or does it also apply to mobile camera vans?

Cheers,
J.

Um, i think it has to reach the registered keeper within 14 days of the date of the offense.

So if you car is your own and your V form has your correct address on it then you **should** be off the hook.

Last time I was done (77 in a 70 FFS!) by a c**t van in north wales it was through within 3 working days.

They tend to waste no time for their 60 quid!

Before you send it back (if it does arrive and I sincerely hope it doesnt) read the "dont sign the nip" related posts. It **MAY** help you.

Can someone please tell me is it 14 days after the offence has been committed for the NIP to have been issued OR is it 14 days for it to arrive at my home ?

I suspect the former.
