seat belt spotting
Discussion
I did a bit of this today, and was surprised by the number of people who just don't wear them. ok, some of those that don't prefer a baseball cap instead, but I would say that maybe as many as 1 in 20 drivers didn't have them on.
I also noticed all the intersting driving postures.....
Grip of death,
nose aginsts the windscreen,
5' scrote with the seat reclined far back,
slumped up against the drivers door,
drivers who bank into the turn, ie head on the passengers lap to go left,
those who still think they can drive normal with a mobile in the crease of their neck,
those with their hands at 1 minute past 12,
those with their elbows touching the wheel and arms wrapped around it
As long as they aren't speeding I suppose!

My personal favourite, and it`s usually the asians - mum and dad belted up in the front but 5 kids unrestrained on the back seat of some japanese shitbox.
why do they think that's acceptable...

Might also be that they are very friendly with their passenger I also noticed all the intersting driving postures.....

I find that many drivers exhibit at least 2 of the noted positions, with my favorite being
Nose pressed up against front screen combined with Grip of Death on steering wheel (almost invariably the MLM position, except when travelling in town when the furious wheel feeding system is used, to cause them to swerve around corners, just missing heading into the opposite lane etc..)
As for not wearing a seatbelt, Darwin is there for a reason...
