Hi all.
Just finished changing the rad in my car and I found that one of my hoses needed replacing. (for the expansion tank)
Went down to the local motor fctors with my GF and parked in the pay and display car park next door.
Didnt take 70p with me (only had a tenenr on me) so I left the GF in the car and bought the hoze in the shop next door. Had a bit of a chat in there as well and was gone for about 5 minutes.
Came back out and there was a traffic warden typing something into his commputer a couple of cars away from my own.
I didnt think much more of it and drove home.
My girlfriend told me that he has taken a photo of my car
He didnt put a ticket onto the car, or talk to me at all, so im not sure if he was giving me a ticket or not. I think he was wearing a red hat if that makes any difference (in leicestershire)
So.. might I still get a ticket in the post or not? or do they have to put a notice on the car?
Should I save up £50 to post off to the council in a few weeks, or can I spend it on something usefull instead.

They have to put the ticket on the car. They should then take a picture of the car with the ticket on it,a picture of the car with its plate clearly visable and a picture of it in the parking space. If it was not on the car then you will be alright.
I don't think this is true in London. The picture will suffice.....I thought they had to photoe your car and then do so again after the x amout of minutes you legaly have to purchase a ticket and then take a photoe again therefore prooving you hadn't liturally just pulled up and been photoed their while buying a ticket.
Dont get car allowence and only get 25p a mile (left the company now) so i asjed them if they could contribute to the £100 fine and they said they would normaly but they think ive taken advantage by having a £20 meal at the hotel (starter and main no desert) pee'd me reeeet off!
It's then that i found out they had cleverly charged £150 expenses for driving, hotel and food. Driving cost (£75 (600miles) £100 for hotel and then a meal on top!)

Why didn't you just buy a ticket with the change from the hose on the way back to the car?
To be honest I didnt think the guy would give me a ticket, as my girlfriend was in the car at the time.Didnt worry untill my GF told me that he took a photo, which was after we left the car park.
If she had mentioned it earlyer I would have asked the guy when I was there, but I didnt really think about it.
Maybe he took the first photo to proove that I was there for more than a few minutes so he could issue a ticket later? This is why I wanted to find out the rules.
So your car was parked in a Pay and Display bay for some 8 -10 minutes without a payment ticket from you - no change.
The Warden may have been generous seeing you return and disengaged maybe because GF was still in vehicle. Maybe he was after one of the other vehicles.
But I have that awful feeling, if you are the Reg Owner of the vehicle, shortly after 28 days you will be getting a Notice to Owner from LA about the infringement.
If this is the case the read this:
http://www.parkingandtrafficappeals.gov.uk/user_do...
(High Court Judgement and note the date)
which should form your Appeal to the Adjudicator. Para 35 should may you feel good?

Define interfere. And AFAIK it's an offence not to display a valid tax disc.
Move anything from the car to see your number plate, and who said anything about " not displaying" the tax disc. just cover it up.When on the move again, remove cover from Number plate, ANPR will check plates and see that it is indeed taxed and do nothing. Besides, the only people who can do you for not having Tax disc, is the DVLA, if they catch you on the road.

Seemed like a nice enough bloke
He told me that he didnt give me a ticket as GF was in the car. But he would have told her to buy one before he left if the car was still there. As I drove off he didnt need to.
He also told me that unless he has stuck the ticket onto the windscreen then you cant be fined.
So thats one less thing to worry about.

A mate of mine got a ticket through the post after we saw a traffic warden near the car. I'd just nipped into the house to get a visitor permit.
He appealed - inluding a letter from me describing what happened - and they dropped the ticket.
The ticket has to be put on the car, otherwise they can just go around making it up. This is where the camera thing came in, so they can take a picture of a ticket on the car.
You also have a couple of minutes to get change before you can be ticketed but I don't think traffic wardens apply this which is why so many are turned over on appeal.
Also, not sure what durasdiction a traffic warden has in a P&D (presumably private) car park.
