Recently on my commute I've seen the funniest remains of incidents.

For the locals - A404M, Southbound at the A4 exit - I use this every morning on the way to Bracknell. For the non-locals, nice fast flowing Dual Carriageway - jams up further down the road, but good visibility, crash barriers, 70mph limit.

Incident one:

Raining. Ford Escort, early 90s vintage had managed to ride up onto the crash barrier between the exit sliproad and the main carriageway. Exit sliproad is 2 lanes wide, not much traffic around and a 50 foot wide gap either side ... grass for 5-10 feet before barrier starts and he/she manages to hit the barrier dead on and ride the front of the car onto it. Made me chuckle. There was a traffic car in attendance when I went past in the other direction. Escort driver looking a bit sheepish in back. How do people manage to do these things?

Incident two:

AM. Clear dry about 10 days ago. Older car of unidentifiable origins (small hatchback blue with one red panel is all I could tell). Managed to put the car upside down on the same slip road (the slip road is up the usual gradient to a roundabout over the DC). Lots of glass around and no bodies in sight. Traffic car in attendence again. How did they do this?

I'm sure the Police get fed up of clearing this kind of thing up!

Speed could have been involved in either incident, but not looking where you're going/paying attention is probably a greater factor in these incidents. I'm now waiting for a speed camera to appear at this point on the A404 ...
