Just going of what someone has told me (so not 100% certain about factual evidence) but they had the Polis around the other day when he was at work who in the end confiscated his car for the reason that they'd had three complaints from local residents about his "driving style." The lads about 20 and has just bought a new Lexus (on finance of course!).

My question is, if he's been speeding, then can the police confiscate without evidence or if it's noise (I doubt it though on a new Lexus) then can they confiscate without hearing it? The lad just mentioned local residents complaining!

Just read that - so basically if some jealous f**kers don't like me or my car they can phone up and get my car confiscated beacuse they are distressed (cough) they can't afford that car and don't like seeing me driving it (cough).

Now to the case in point unless he had a warning previously - they couldn't confiscate it...

I assume it's taxed, insured and as you say since it's a new car and a lexus probably not too boy racered. If however he drives it like a t**t - it might just have the intended effect.

Simes.

If you hire a car, then keep receipts. I would also be asking for the evidence used etc..

Sounds a bit like it doesn't it? Maybe someone could make up some stories about the awful driving styles of family members of local councillors or MPs. We won't see the word-in-the-ear-to-someone-special-cover-up it'll be so fast. Crazy law written by crazy people.

And there's the new phone records law in today. I know it's difficult to understand how, but we have even less freedom than we did yesterday. I seriously think they're pushing us too far and it's only a matter of time before someone goes doolally with a machine gun. I mean, you only have to watch the X-Factor auditions to understand the kind of loons we have in this (and every other) country.

That guy convicted of the letter bombs last week did it because he was sickened by the state keeping his dad's DNA on record even though he was found not guilty. Although I don't support his actions I do have sympathy for him (probably 10 years in prison for saying that), and I reckon there's a small chance that it could be a sign of things to come.
