No oncoming traffic, just another car to the left of me (dual carriageway) which went through same time and same speed as me.

Am I right in remembering GATSO's sometimes flash randomly for 'spot checks'??

Not that it bothers me, I just have no faith in these 'Scamera Partnerships' and there accuracy...

Cheers

how many times did it flash you? it has to flash twice for it to issue a ticket, you could always go back and burn down the scamera if it will make you feel better

Perhaps it saw a fat return (no pun on money intended) and though it was one van and not two cars - Streaky

Any chance there had been road works, and the speed limit reduced, and not re-instated? long shot I know.

Still if your doing 60 no worries! Unless of course it says you were doing something else, then I'd worry.

If you were doing 60 in a 60 then don't worry .... it doesn't matter why it flashed.

Lines on the road would ultimately prove you were doing the limit and no more.

I recently got flashed for 36 in a 40.

I was driving minding my own business on a dual carriageway near Chessington. I Thought it must have been a mistake as the road was definitely a 40mph limit.....

However, the road had recently been downgraded to a 30mph limit and having investigated the rules and regulations the highways dept do NOT have to tell anyone or apply signage if they change the limit and I was banged to rights.

The golden rule here is if you are in a semi built up or built up area regardless of what road you are on, if you don't see a speed limit sign, assume the limit is 30.

I got a speed awareness course rather than points, so no problem on this occasion.

If the road you were on has 60mph limit signs, take photos and keep your fingers crossed that you didn't misread your speedo!
