i dont see too much of a problem with the video, he wasnt wreckless and was in controll of his chariot, he wasnt just going balls out to max the bike out he only did that when it was clear.
its apparent most of you dont realise a R1 will get to 175 in about 16 seconds, and as such, it will also stop about 6 times quicker than you'd expect a very good stopping stopper to stop.
factor in the fact that a bike is far better at manouvering and dodging out the way of things and you'll get nearer my conclusion that there was not alot wrong with it.
but again people with no experience of the vehicle in question will become experts on the subject as this is, afterall, pistonheads.
still think the guys a dumb ass for posting the video on the internet . . . . . and dont condone doing those sort of speeds on public roads.

A127 ? You really would have to be a fecking nutter to do it on there ! All the old dears etc sitting in the outside lane from the M25 to Southend so they can turn right before Tescos !
Hmm, I may have passengered at 130 leptons or so on the A127 in my youth.. A friend decided to show me that my TVR 350i wasn't actually all that fast at all !!! If the road is long, straight and pretty clear of traffic, then it isn't so bad.

Factor in that a bike at those speeds is not nearly as visible for nearly as long as people expect...its apparent most of you dont realise a R1 will get to 175 in about 16 seconds, and as such, it will also stop about 6 times quicker than you'd expect a very good stopping stopper to stop.

Anyone else wonder whether that speedo is reading kmh rather than mph? He just doesn't seems to be closing very fast on other traffic, given the supposed indicated speed. I could be wrong - never done 174mph on a bike. Still find 60mph on 2 wheels rather

Not having a go at the guy as we've all done it (and more!) but I can tell you my 2007 R1 doesn't like to change direction at 170 odd! Edit to say that although we've all done these kinds of speeds it's probably best not to post about it as, whichever way you cut it, it's dangerous for the rider / car driver and others around them. Im happy to see video's of guys riding balls out on a dual with no other traffic but this looks pretty busy to me. Also, it's not that impressive - simply hop on any modern day bike, tuck down and twist your wrist and you'll see 180 something...
