.......if they're in the Avon & Somerset Police area that is.

Remember, this is the Force whose CC has offered to pick up the tab for the Black Police Association's "Conference" to be held in Bristol.

Anyway, back to the PCSO tag. Apparently the Force has recruited too many PCSOs whilst the government was funding the exercise, now that the funding is due to end, early soundings from the various councils on taking up the funding instead is dissappointingly negative (to put it politely).

What does this mean? It means the Force has to find something in the region of £12.5 million to maintain the current numbers of police offic....sorry PCSOs.

Could this be the same scenario for other Forces and Local Authorities I wonder.

As if that's not bad enough, there is currently a shortfall in police officers in Bristol of 120. Still it won't be a problem for long as the CC is ousting the police officers currently working within the Comms Centres and putting them back on the streets, perhaps replacing them with his PCSOs?

Meanwhile the Force's Dog handlers are so thin on the ground that they now have had to impose a 12hrs shift to meet demands.

It appears that due to the number of female dog handlers currently working part-time (work/life balance considerations) that their male full-time colleagues are too overstretched to cope. Stress and sickness is going to rise mark my word.scratchchin

I guess a day in the life of a typical politician.....sorry CC is not a happy one. headache

The big question is, are we getting value for money out of all this???
