Where did that Sticky go?
Discussion
There were two actually, though the one which springs to mind is personal abuse.
Seems a bit regular in here lately and seems to be upsetting one or two regular BiB.
I used to visit this section often as I found it informative, but at the moment it's just getting cringe-worthy with certain people assuming it's their God given right to spout forth dubious information and snide comments.
May be worth mentioning a certain TV chef(ess) in one or two threads just to get them closed?

I suggest the use of the report button... in the top right hand corner of each post.
I thoroughly recommend its use, the little group of new posters [with about 30 posts between them] are a bit 'shouty' at the moment.

mode onIf there's a vendetta it's against rudeness in general, politeness costs nothing. I've "had a go" at several people who I think have overstepped the mark, and reported various posts for offensive content, and will continue to do so. If more people thought this way, then perhaps we wouldn't have BiB posters feeling unable to continue in the S,P & L forum. Criticise, yes, praise, yes, call a spade a spade, hell yes, but please try within the bounds of common decency. Yes maybe my post above could be considered rude, I think that its just about OK, if I had used a string of swearwords then maybe not. Is it provocative, yes certainly, and maybe that might make certain posters consider their actions a bit more carefully.
mode offOh yes, and I've apologised in the past when I've stepped over the mark and had it pointed out to me.

This was the reason for my first post. *It's nice to be nice*If there's a vendetta it's against rudeness in general, politeness costs nothing.

Personally I don't, but that's your prerogative and I don't either blame you or hold it against you. Just not me....andmole said:

Takes a man to apologise (or a wimp who realises he's wrong).... Sorry Andy....couldn't find an appropriate smiley, so have a couple of these:

Edited coz I'm still trying to get a point across and be pleasant

It's interesting that given all the people who have responded to my posts lately, not one of them is the actual person I was annoyed with, or the actual person Ted warned in another thread.
Why would you take something so personally when that person hasn't even addressed anything to you?Edited by Brother Mycroft on Friday 12th October 14:05
