Enterprise are replacing the mains at Mrs Envy's house at the moment which is making parking spaces a premium

a few doors down is a very large caravan with a for sale sign in the window - there's no car attached but it does have a wheel clamp on it (which is a shame)

is it allowed to be parked in the street or can I phone the vendor up and tell him to move it before a resident gets fed up and calls the council to move it for him?

TIA

It is my understanding that a caravan parked on the road overnight must have lights on. It may be illegal to park the caravan unless it is being loaded / unloaded, being repaired, or waiting to be repaired.

Call the local council.

There is probably an issue with the for sale sign as it is technically illegal as far as I`m aware to park a vehicle on the road or roadside advertising it for sale (although you do of course see it a lot).

Certainly your local council will get involved. They will issue a notice requiring the caravan to be moved otherwise it will be taken away and disposed of.

edited to say : a great caravaning tip - no one likes soggy toilet paper but do not worry there is a simple solution. Cut an old soft drinks bottle in half, make a slit to feed the paper through and there you have it. You can even push the two halves together again to make a watertight toilet roll holder. more handy hints next week wink

I have never had to consider how to avoid soggy toilet paper and for me, illustrates admirably the difference between people who caravan and people who don't. I have tried it, all around New Zealand a couple of Christmas's ago. Great fun, but next time I'd hire a sports car and sleep in hotels. Not knocking it, horses for courses and all that.

Seems like a great idea if soggy toilet paper is an issue though!

Have you not got something with sufficient Torque and a Tow-Bar? Just pull it until the wheel clamp can hold on no longer...
