There wasn't anything wrong with that manoeuvre if you ask me. Line of least resistance they are taught. His speed should have obviously altered if he's in that lane and depending on what stage the traffic lights are on.

Looking at the map, the discovery driver had a perfectly clear view where the Police vehicle was approaching from so his observation skills should be questioned if he had to slam on. The general public, I included have a blinkered vision (I’m going that way so don’t care what else is occurring around me) More commonly known as ignorance.

But the Disco driver couldn't have seen much of him really (there were about 5/4 cars behind him, including a couple of vans) - the traffic behind him obscuring any view he might have had. Perhaps he might have seen the Astra moving right into the filter lane, by which time he'd already set-off and it then being too late to comfortably move out of the way.

Obviously its a split-second decision thing but I think the bobby should have shown a bit more consideration to what us 'plebs' might be doing and adjust his speed accordingly.

Agreed -

I presume they dont just drive like morons because they like it - You need to think, whats he attending? Is a colleague in trouble? is someones house being broken into? etc

However important, road safety should be of the upmost importance as he/she is no use to anyone if they crash
