Two queries:

  • Is it ok to park opposite a driveway (dropped kerb) when the road is so narrow that this will impede exiting the aforementioned driveway?
  • Is it acceptable to park on a speed bump? The bump itself is less of a "bump", and more a "short cobbled section, the entire width of the road
TIA

Judging by the amount of people who do it to my driveway I think point 1 is fine. I also have people park either side of the dropped curb with bumpers overhanging the dropped curb which makes it really fun to get in and out of.

Of course, people could just park 20 yards further down the road where there are loads of spaces and make life easier for the 30 people or so in my block of flats, but they don't.

If there are no other parking restrictions I cannot think of a single reason why parking on a speed hump would be an issue to anyone.

They are allegedly there to slow down traffic, a parked car cannot go much slower...

My drive is more of a private lane with 2 houses down it - mine being the furthest from the road. People do park opposite, and although it's OK if you come out forward, sometimes I have to reverse out - and that can be a pain. Also deliveries of big things becomes difficult, as the lorries need more room - esp. when it's the heating oil delivery at 7am!
