I followed a biker last night who was either utterly drunk or having a heart attack.

I caught up with him in an NSL, fortunately I realised he was going extreemly slowly and got on the brakes in plenty of time. I hadn't expected a sports bike to be doing 22mph.

He was weaving all over the road, occasionally building some confidence and spurting off, only to slow right down again. Once I saw him go for the clutch and hit the indicators instead.

I was in a somewhat unusual mood (argument with girlfriend earlier) and followed him home, partly to make sure he got there safely, partly to make sure if he did cause an accident there'd be a witness.

I really wanted to report him, but couldn't figure out who I should speak to. 999 seemed way over the top, but couldn't think of any others.

Suggestions?

I would have called 999, a pissed guy on a bike is just as dangerous as one in a car

To drink and drive is stupid, but to drink and ride is unbelievable. If this guy was mashed and not just a terrible rider then he ain't going to be around in the near future

Maybe it was some youngster who had taken his dad's bike out without his knowledge for a quick blast but then shat himself as soon as he realised he couldn't ride it?

PS - I'm not challenging your judgement just putting forward another possibility.

I'd have dialled the police as he could still have killed someone - if not only himself!

Knock him into a ditch where he can lay until he sobers up.

If this seems a bit nasty to you, then that's because drink driving is really not something you do by accident is it? Of course the guy could have been ill and trying to get home to crash into bed with a hot water bottle or similar ...
