Got up this am and had a letter in the door reminding me that over a month ago I Left the car at home and took the bike into holland The letter is in Dutch ( really ) from the police saying someting about speeding in road works but no other details. Both myself and a pal got a letter. Me for 124KPH in a 70 and him 114 in a 70.
am I going to get another letter, going to jail or have I got to sell my first born. I do remeber the stretch but was travelling at the same speed as the cars so really confused.
Any Ideas out there, gota tell the wife now.

Must be a new initiative by the Dutch Scamera brigade, as I too recently received a 'tax bill' (in Dutch!) for - wait for it - 129kph in a limit of 120!!
28 Euro fine for 7.5% over the limit!!
I was going to ignore it but a Dutch acquaintence of mine suggested it was easier to pay than go through the hassle of dealing with the consequences of pissing off the Dutch traffpol and any private contractors they may employ to try and recover the money. I did wonder what might happen if I sent them a cheque in sterling though!

Question here is: How do you KNOW this "nip" is from the dutch police? Could it be a scam to get money perchance? Not that id ever suggest that the good old british nip is anything other than a righteous infliction of retribution by an appropriate agent...
Id be extremely cautious about just arbitrarliy sending off money to some place in holland simply cos they *say* you was guilty.

As being a dutchman i can read the letter without any problems. But i would suggest that you ask that they send you the same letter in english.
Also send them a letter with your complaint and say that you were not travelling that speed there (and your friend and so on). Send them a letter in English and that should get you some time.
First ask them to send you the excact letter in English because you dont understand what they want from you.
In the end you probably have to pay, but there is a chance that you wont have to do so.
IT will be a expensive ticket thats for suuuuuuuuure, so you might aswell take the chance.
