"The police constable was forced to abandon the 10- mile pursuit for his own safety. "
I guess he wasn't as fast as them then!
To allow the Rozzers to reclaim some pride I propose a plod verses civvie PHers race to Brighton!
Meet at my place at midnight, get tanked up on cheap whisky and do a few lines of coke.
Set off at 2am in a no holds barred blast down the A281 to Brighton.
Last one there's a p*ssy!!!

I hope they don't start letting muggers and murderers out of prison early to make way for motorists.
Although 120mph may sound horrific to a middle class retired bank manager magistrate, I imagine the Bench (Excluding Bob) have no idea how quickly these bikes can accellerate and more importantly brake.
It puts into context what an otherwise responsible educated city type told me a few months ago. If I catch a tail at more than 30mph over the limit on my bike, I will lose them, I will not pull over.

It's not the 120, it's the running away.
A high speed chase in dangerous.
If you run from the Rozzers, prison is exactly where you need to be.
Of course, it's handy to know that it is possible to outrun them if you have to!!! ;-)

OK but will need to nick a bike first.
Better not break any speed limits though - seems you can go to prison for that.

That isn't even ironic - it's fact.
First offence drugs, theft drink driving you get a caution.
140mph on a clear dual carriagway and you do not pass go...
What a country.

Judge Desmond Perrett QC told the men: "You have a blatant disregard for the safety of other road users. I have to send you to prison to deter others from speeding."
I thought they were done for dangerous driving?
HELLO!
There's a difference!!!
It sickens me that drug addicts walk free when speeders get locked up. Sure, these guys were being arseholes, but a ban would suffice for a first offence, not
prison! Both riding bikes so imho the biggest danger they posed was to themselves.
"One rider narrowly missed a heavy goods vehicle coming the other way"
So what would have been the outcome of a collision between them? One squashed biker and a lorry driver who has to pick bits of bike out of his grill.
Go to clink for that

It's not illegal to be an addict. You're making a huge generalisation that addicts are all vile criminals. Some addicts harm nobody but themselves. Lots of nicotine and alcohol addicts in this country but I don't see them being locked up for the privilege.
Nicotine addicts harm other people via passive smoking in confined spaces. Breakers of an arbitrary but legally enforced speed limit only harm others when they go faster than the conditions permit, not when they break the enforced speed limit.

Ah the good old A41 at Tern Hill....Driven it a fair few times.
There are some dangerous bits, but all in all its always seemed pretty safe to do whatever speed you like on it.
Like i said though, there are some dangerous bits.
They shouldnt be doing time for speeding. Stupid Judge with his head up his Bott.

Pretty similar to bikers then.
Except I'd imagine the percentage of bikers who turn to crime in order to support their habit is somewhat lower ;-)

And that most Bikers will be sober, not on hallucenogenic drugs, actually value their lives and be actively trying not to crash, unlike most junkies who don't give a fcuk!

Smokers are OK. They're just part of the 100,000 deaths per annum attributable to smoking. But think of the tax revenue and ultimately the pension savings.
I looked into the economics of smoking a while back.
Basically we should give everyone of them a pat on the back!
They are net subsidisers of all all of us through their choice to dies young and relativly quickly while paying a fortune to Gordon!
