Congestion in cities

Only posting cos its late and I'm bored! But what do you reckoon to the following to solve congestion issues:

1. All junctions to be yellow box, being in and blocking traffic £500 fine no points.

2. All traffic lights to have cameras - 3 points and fine.

3. Middle lane numpties - 3 points and f*** off big fine.

4. Taxis that U turn, and stop whereever (ie inconvineint places) - revocation of taxi permit. Should also promote safety in pedestrians

5. Jaywalkers - firing squad.

why these - well these keep traffic moving - IMHO volume is not the issue its how to move it thru that is - certainly in the past year that I've been driving from berks into the city centre.

Sounds reasonable, indeed why not go further and remove all the traffic jam lights, allowing the US system of going when it is your turn?

Slight problem with that idea, it requires drivers to think a bit, which is not allowed under Bliar and his thought police.
