Couple of questions if I may

Mainly directed to the fine serving officers who we have lurking around here.....
1) I'm looking at a Origin Blue 2 GPS detector thingy, for use as a safety device of course. Group buy has got the price down to £350, which is a bit of a bargin I think. If you stopped a car for a minor infraction (say 10mph over the limit), and noticed that the driver had one of these detectors on the dashboard, would you be more likely to throw the book at the driver, or would you think along the "interested in his driving so possibly more switched on than the average numpty" lines.
Has anyone been stopped with one of these?
2) Plates. I need new plates (mine are starting to look real old). Now, I was going to get some from here www.fancyplates.com. Nothing drastic, Red toyota border, little GT-Four logo. No silly fonts. No stupid spacing. If I get the standard font, I'm legal. If I get a different (but still perfectly legible) font, I'm not. Is this something the officers of the law crack down on, or don't you really care?

but would have thought the answers were quite obvious;
1) depends if it's a lentilist of a 
that pulls you,
2) as long as the plate doesn't contravene the relevant regs (a quick search on here will give you exact details) you'll be fine.
IMHO the plate is fine as long is it's the right colour, font, size and spacing. You can put whatever border and stickers on it you like, as long as they don't interfere with somone/somethings' ability to read it.
