Sorry mate - you can't get them removed yet..

Valid for 3 years - MUST remain on license for 4 years and ins Co usually want to know for 5yrs.

If you go to court - Usually the clerk will read out any that are listed and declare them spent/expired. The magistrates should then ignore them - but I know this isn't always the case (proving they've fined/endorsed based on inclusion is difficult/nigh on impossible).

Hmmm, is there a human rights issue here? They get to see your previous convictions before making a judgement. Thats a no-no isnt it?

Only for real criminals or so it seems. motorists also have to incriminate themselves as well; another legal no-no!

That's what I thought as well. 3 prior murders. Up for murder. Jury not allowed to know about previous form.....

....no jury of course for speeding.

I was taken to court, and the magistrate certainly knew how many points I had.(at the time 3)
He said to me, that instead of 4 points and a big fine he was going to give me 7 points (taking my score to 10)
His reason for this -
"The fine won't really have that much effect on you.
Hopefully as you will be on 10 points - and risk losing your licence for a 3 point fixed penalty. It will make you think before breaking the law....."

This was 5 years ago though - just thought I'd share it.
Hated that bloody magistrate for years afterwards.
