Just driving down the M1 earlier and my Road Angel informed me of the new SPECS average speed cameras. There somewhere between the junction of the M10 and the M25 as you travel south back into London.
Anyway, there were no signs or any indication that these cameras were even there, they were also very difficult to see hanging from the gantry as they're quite small and not painted a bright colour. I just had to thank my Road Angel for informing me that they were there. The thing is (this old question again) these cameras are supposedly there to deter speeders, however as there's NO warning it's just another case of generating revenue.

So be aware next time you're driving down the M1.

I guess they are there to work between 10pm and 6am when the road actually flows at that point!??!?!

Haven't these cameras been discussed here before? I seem to recall the conclusion was there were not live, or at least not live as in catching speeders, but were there to monitor taffic flow. Mind you not sure I'll risk it!

Thanks for that warning.
