I am sorry the British Police should be in Land Rovers and Range Rangers and not luxury Jap stuff funded by camera money.

Is it not illegal to have a car in full police livery if it is not (a) a recognised police vechile and (b) driven by a recognised Police employee or associate?

And why prey would the Police want to drive a Lexus SUV? It doesn't do anything particually well enough to warrant it's existence on the force...

As for why they have them, Price. I bet Lexus are treating this as a publicity stunt (remember how people started to look at Volvo after their T5's were used) and are selling them very very cheap.

It's good PR for companies to have the police using their vehicles. Lexus are trying to bolster their image for reliability and a police vehicle should do just that.

Nope, as long as there are no force badges.

I used to have enormous fun driving around Slough Trading Estate in various police cars!

9 seconds! I could do it twice in that time. Not very scarey is it, in fact kind cute. Maybe they should paint some big scarey teeth on the front with the words "you're nicked if you're a milkfloat".

I was thinking of getting some Hi-vis stripes for the VX ! - might make people more aware of a low slung car if it looks like plod.

Great now the police are using SUV's maybe it's to give them a fighting chance of policing the school run in Kensington.

In Russia the plod are running around in Mercedes SL toff roaders funded by close ties to the local mafia.

It seems Britain is going the same way.

It was also f***ing funny when Sussex pulled over a Met LandRover, because a couple the MPMC lads hadn't taped up, before going down to Crawley for Met-Trek a few years ago.
