I read an article about 2 Notts police officers escaping a pending speeding charge because the camera signs at the location were black-bordered and did not comply with the Road Traffic Act.

I know there are regulations for signage and line painting in relation to parking tickets but are there any particular rules relating to the siting or signing of cameras?

Have any PH'ers evaded a charge on a 'technicality'?

Some I know of seem to be applying a 'one rule for them another for us' philosophy but surely it's the same rule but some are aware of it others are not and all who are aware could use it too?

I knew it was too early for me, thanks.

EDIT:

Just clicked that link and it's informative but relates to speed limit signs as opposed to safety camera or other camera signs and the regulations governing them.
