Speeding Points Reduction Idea

Most people seem to agree that most accidents are caused by negligence / lack of observation rather than speeding.

So how about bringing in a law that any points awarded for a speeding related offence would be reduced by a third if the driver had an advanced driving qualification at the time of an offence.

Rather than this being an invitation to speed it should be used as a method of persuading people to invest in their driving skills. I'm convinced, if the course was of sufficient quality, that we would at least have a nation of safer and more aware drivers even if it didn't reduce speeding offences.

The government may like this becuase you would still be fined each time you are caught but it would take 6 simple offences rather than 4 to get to the ban. So 6 fines instead of 4 before a nice large one for the ban has to raise more money !

sorry Moz you seem to have assumed the Government gives a fcuk about safety. Now if you could link this clever idea to filling their coffers with the motorists hard earned, you're on to a winner.
