TV cop show.

It showed two cops who pulled an old Cavalier on the outskirts of Slough.
Aside from the bloke driving the car contained his girlfriend and two kids,
both asleep in the back.

When asked if he was, "on anything?" the driver freely admitted to being a
Heroin user, that it was about an hour since his last fix and that he was on
his way to buy some more.

He'd was travelling from a pawn shop, where he'd pawned his tools for 100
quid to buy smack. To do this his girlfriend had provided ID in the form of
a driving licence and benefit book that didn't belong to her, but that "a
friend" had left at their place "by mistake".

The car had originally been pulled because it had been reported driving off
without paying for petrol a few days earlier. However the driver claimed to
have just bought the car.

In the boot were 6 full needle disposal containers.

The two coppers were having a little chat about what a state the driver was
in, as they let him get back in his car, with his girlfriend and the two
kids (still asleep) and drive off.

"Well", says one copper, "we know where he lives if we need to talk to him
later."

This in a country where speeding gets you prison!

I hope they went back to their house that was provided by the taxpayer. (As long as they felt it met their standards of course and wasn't too far from the shops...wouldn't want to upset them.)

Apologies to anyone who lives in Slough... but David Brent said it first, in a way

This would be the Road Wars program on Sky One I assume? Apart from the annoying presenter, it's quite good to watch ..
