Driving down a 50MPH straight piece of road near Sandhurst, Fiesta up ahead doing 32 so I pull out to overtake (safely and with plenty of view ahead) perfomed the manovure with no problems. At that point some wierd middle aged man practically ran off the pavement out into the road waving and mouthing "slow down" and giving me gestures - bear in mind at this point I was doing about 45-50 on a dead straight 50....

Then saw him walking back onto the pavement shaking his head and saying somthing to his overweight wife.

Bank holiday weekends dont half bring them out the gutter.....!!

I blame the men in white coats.

Clearly they are not succeeding in their collection duties like they used to.

I dunno. Me? Id have turned round and gone "had a word" with the loony.
You coulda correctly pointed out the speed of the car being overtaken, the speed you attained, and finally the speed limit.
If that kind of reasoning didnt work, you coulda just told him to fffffffffffffffly off...(you thought i was gonna say , didnt ya? )
Oh yeah, it certainly does bring em out.

frightening, a clear example of how effective the 'speed kills' campaign has become. The doddering old fart probably thinks a brisk walk demands someone up ahead waving a red flag

I too would have turned around promptly to ask him what seemed to be the problem?? I hate stupid old farts like that and would just have to put him right, though whatever you said he would undoubtedly think he was still in the right.

being the trusted fool that I am I would have assumed that he was signalling there was a speed trap up ahead. But the recognised signal for that is the thumbs down then point to the direction of the speed trap.

I've warned bikers before and been warned by others myself.

Last week I was driving down a de-restricted B-road which I use every day. For some reason I wasn't going top whack, I was driving at 45, no idea why, I think I was just enjoying the sun and having the roof down. Anyway, I came around a corner and there was a 20ish year old girl on a footpath who saw me, she ran towards the road waving her with a 'slow down' gesture. As I drove past her, I heard her shout 'Slow down you idiot!'. If I wasn't having such an enjoyable time I would have done an emergancy stop and got out to find out what her problem was.

Tell me about it , finished work early due to half of the vehicles not turning up so took the bike for a blast with a mate down the coast road lyme regis sidmouth etc to exeter the ammount of tw@'s on the road was unbeliveable , to start off with we have road captain polo who pulled out of a junction infront of me when i was about 100 meters from him doing 50 then he see's me and brakes cue bike right up his arse flashing headlights and rider inviting him round for coffee , then came up behind 3 cars following a tractor on a stright stretch of road indicated and pulled out and started to accelerate past the traffie meanwhile dopey in the omega decides if a bike can do it so can i and starts to pull out , only me blasting my horn and punching his drivers window lets him know that im there ! he pulls back in .. Next a vectra pulls out infront of an old boy on a cb250 on a mini roundabout , I harass him for the next 2 miles before overtaking ,....in a pete tong style we continue ...... get to Exeter and head for Bridge on the marsh barton Ind est A stupid cow in a freeladder decides that normal rules dont apply to her when using a roundabout and cuts me up , i wont say what happened between my fist and her mirror just incase , the standard of driving in this country has gone to the dogs the only thing thats clamped down on is speeding and thats only because it makes money

1- Well I reckon its because your car is so noisy. I live down the road in Blackwater and I could hear you from here

2 - Or of course he could be on day release from Broadmoor Hospital (care in the community or some other rubbish)

3 - The more likely explanation is the fact that most of the people in this area are MAD! Must be inbreading or summat
