Saw my first undercover (plain) police bike in action today pulling over a gaggle of bikers on the A272, he did have a usual police marked up bike assisting him but looked like only 3 or 4 bikes pulled over and the rest (3 or 4) carried on.
The bike was a dark Burgundy with hidden blues flashing, didn't clock what type of bike but driver had the police 'upright' style of riding he also had 'Police' across his dark helmet, V difficult to see it.
Are these for solely targeting the bikers or are all 'sporting' drivers at risk from these types .
I'm sure I've overtaken that bike before now and thinking 'thats the police upright driving style' . Therefor the grace............

In the front fairing behind grills and underseat either side of tail light at back. I think...... You've got to realise that this was in passing, slowed down and goofed, but certainly not visable to me if they weren't flashing .

As I said in the original post not sure what type of bike, but certainly the type that suits the 'sit up and beg' police style of riding, BMW or some such.

At a local bike meat there was a bloke standing by his red Honda VFR the bike was layed up away from the other bikes.

as a couple of riders left the car park one did a wheelie no cars around empty road all he would have done is hurt his pride ...any way

Guy puts his lid on and chases after them come back a bit later and asume same possition.

The bike looked standard from a distance my mate who when close reconed he could see the blue lights tuccked under the fairing

TVP seem to have a VFR in dark blue. The only way I knew it was plod was because it had a small police shield on the front fairing where the Honda badge usually is and it had yellow hi-viz stripes on the back of the panniers. Couldn't tell from the front unless you saw the police label on his dark lid.

Tony would I be right in saying these bikes are for mainly patroling known bike routes ? so basicaly they target bikes rather than traffic in general?

They are used for allsorts...i tend to find that bikers spot them without problem but car drivers havent got a clue. As you can imagine, they are very effective and should be used more often instead of gathering dust as we havent got enough people to ride them.

Well can I assume the bikers I saw this weekend obviously spend too much time in their cars .
Tinking about it the bike could have been a Honda thingy, not a BM, but then again .
