Nope. We post about COAST skills being the way to help keep it safe all the time und LEGAL most of the time und the stupidity of letting kids play around with speed guns instead of teaching them how to cross a road per the Green Cross Code.
Pointing a speed device at any car passing does not teach them how to form an opinion of speed. They just see this as a jolly jape ... but still do not learn HOW to cross the road properly.
If using the device was as my own son point out had been followed up with "what should you do if a car approach from that distance at whatever the speed the device portrayed" - then we might be teaching the child better how to wait at the kerb until suitable lull in the passing traffic allow the safer crossing of the road. Better still as Lukas point out.. head to the near-by pelican crossing und press the button

I don't think I am above the law. It's usually a fair cop when I get caught but even then there have been exceptions.
Personally and I can't talk for everyone else I just find the hypocrisy brought about by policy enforcment hard to swallow.
Motorist gets flashed a few mph over the limit..two weeks later gets three points and possibly a totted up ban when the road may have been clear or heaven forbid instead of watching his speedo he was concentrating on traffic and hazzards.
Contrast that with the police's exemptions and the results of their driving.
If you want to talk about the police making the roads safe then statistically you are far safer when you are driving with me in your vicinity since I have never had contact with another vehicle in many years of driving.

But the Highway Code .. Green Cross Code as led by Darth Vader caused a significant drop in deaths during the high profile years. He still involved in this. He gave interview where he said that he feared the lack of constant high profile teaching of the Highway Cod und the "glib und dumb" belief that a "speed camera stops deaths" has led to an increase in children being run over by traffic.
UK has the highest stats on this in all Europe (including non-EU countries).
It top the road charts .. but no longer for having the safest roads any more.
despite topping the charts for having the most cameras ..und the highest KSI und unsolved crime rates 
But why have we lost the poll position.. und been usurped by F-f-f-rrrrance?
Because road safety policy lost the plot und become one single issue with a huge spend on speed cams und little spent on the stuff which really matter

Because 'the law' is constantly being changed to suit political views/goals that have at best a spurious connection with the reason we have traffic laws in the first place - to help people go about their business on the roads without foisting undue danger or hindrance upon others?Edited by 900T-R on Thursday 3rd July 07:53
We had pencils at school with the 'kerb drill' written on them.

Individual responsibility has been lost to the 'blame' culture. They may as well remove the words 'sorry' and 'fault' from the english dictionary because fault belongs without question to motorists

There is a small MINORITY that believes they are the worlds best drivers and believe they should be able to do as they wish but they are most ignored.There is a large majority that believe that concentrating solely on speed and ignoring every other factor is complete and utter lunacy.
For example do you believe it is perfectly safe for you to drive along a motorway in a snow storm where you have zero grip and zero vision at 69mph but utterly lethal to do 72mph on the same motorway in bright sunshine?
Are you perfectly happy with a drunk driving along past your kids school?
Are you perfectly happy with an uninsured driver running into your car and doing a runner?
Are you perfectly happy with the knife wielding maniacs who want to stab you because you over took them?
Are you perfectly happy with drivers blocking you when you over take and forcing you to stay on the wrong side of the road?
As all of the above and plenty more can be done below the speed limit. If you think they are insignificant matters and speed is the only answer then sir you are a moron and you can bugger off. Personally I think they are far greater threats to my well being then roger the rep doing 80mph on a motorway

This section isn't about how to be above the law.It's about how to use the law to protect and serve you when you need it.
If anyone thinks the law is anything other than a system to manipulate and be manipulated by, they are naive in the extreme.
