[Hypothetical mode on]

If I did a half-doughnut in a dead end side-road in an industrial estate which was witnessed by some geezer who takes offence and decides to report it, what's the likely action (if any) by the BiB ?

I would think that a general 'ticking off' will be in order, but thats as far as it will go.

Just tell em you hit a patch of oil which caused the back end to come around really quickly.

Your vehicle would get circulated but that would be it. If you were seen after by someone on patrol they'd stop you, probably give you a 7 day wonder.

I doubt they'd do a call on for a doughnut...

To be honest mate, I doubt they'd bat an eyelid. Probably took the guys complaint and said thank you very much, and didn't take it any further.

I remember in a mates car, stuck in a longish queue of traffic along a wide open A road behind a lorry doing 45ish. No one was overtaking at all, so we'd overtake 3 or 4 cars, then pull into a gap when a bend or some cars loomed...then another few cars. Pulled into a gap at one point in front of some guy who was driving a bit too close to the car in front, causing him to ease up a bit after we'd pulled in, which he took exception to, with flashing lights and horn etc. Next thing we know, he's flashing us again, but with intention to make himself seen, and he's waving his mobile at us (almost weaving into the opposite lane at this point!!!) telling us that he's reported us for trying to make progress presumably...some people!!!

A few years ago returning via Oxfordshire to N wales from Sheerness in a turbo Sierra, I zapped past a white escort van, parts delivery type. White van man was rather annoyed at being overtaken as he was flat out straighlining roundabouts etc. A few miles ahead we were crawling in the tailback at roadworks in the NS lane of dual carriageway. WMV whom I'd fogotten announced his presence with frantic flashing finger signs and horn when he saw me and eventually pulled alongside as we were both at walking pace. Still driving and hooting he leaned across and wound down his NS window to yell abuse more effectively. Before it was even half open he was thrown out of his seat by the impact of his van hitting the ( now stopped ) car in front. The bumper of the peugeot fell off on the road and a rather big bloke got out. When all the traffic moved on again I could here him bawling " its that barstewards fault in that Sierra. " Me and colleague couldn't see or perhaps drive safely for laughing for several miles. Silly thing is we did not even look at him let alone goad him into this state.
