Definately NOT ME!!!

Friend with previously clean license was doing 60MPH on dual carriage way but limit was 30MPH (no idea why, didn't say). Was snapped by a talivan so is expecting paperwork through the door in < 2 weeks...

What is she looking at? 6 points and hefty fine, or 6 points and ban?

I don't think you can get points and a ban. If you lose your license I think it comes back clean. No idea what she should expect tho i'm sure someone who does will reply.

Depends whether the friend was snapped at 60 or above - if they were, say goodbye to the freedom of the road with a mandatory ban.

Below 60, and I think it's gonna be 6pts and a £200-ish fine. Obviously if they are a new driver 6pts = problems.

Yeah - 206 has been there I reckon

Looking a 3 months probably...he should have tried to take a fixer at 59. Saves the ban AND the BiB don't waste a day in court - lol

Not all looking bad.

Family relative of mine was caught on a Gatso doing 67 in a 30.

Got 3 points and 60 quid fine (fixed penalty offer)

Nice....

I think doing 60mph in a 30mph limit is a little over the top to be honest. However, what possible reason could there be to have a 30mph limit on any dual carriageway in the first place? Assuming there are no roadworks in progress etc this must be bordering on the motoring equivalent of entrapment.

A31 towards Poole has a 40 mph dual carriageway and it's a real favourite with the mobile camera boys, especially around ferry docking times.

A338 dual carriageway twds Bmth is nuts too. 50 mph limit for 5 miles on a tourist trunk route and 4 gatsos!!

I got caught in a similar situation 3 years ago.

Penalty was 6 pts and a £360.00 fine. If your friend gets the choice of a court appearance or pleading by post, the legal advice I got was to plead guilty by post.

Apparently if you're not physically in court, you can't be banned.

Sorry! Never had points, accident or even stopped by BiB.

Sadly I fear that isn't going to last long in the current climate...

Just had a change of tack on the A1000, (Barnet to Potters Bar road), drove up there in the morning, 60mph limit, anyone who knows this road will know it could easily be more and still be safe. To my horror when I drove back down in the evening it had been changed to a 40mph limit. Will have a few quid with anyone that a camera will appear soon - in the interests of "safety." This is total B******s.

All I need to find out now is that they are training asylum seekers to install cameras and I will lose the F*****g plot completely.

No offence mate but that sounds like bullsh1t!

67 in a 30 is not a fixed penalty, never has been and never will be. Sure they weren't telling porkies?
