Ive no doubt this has been done before but just how can you tell?

I've always gone on the assumption that if i see a dark coloured Volvo with two men inside then it is ans adjust speed accordingly.

95% of my miles are on the motorways each day and i see more unmarked cars pulling people over than i do signed cars.

Obviously you can tell they're unmarked when the have the lights flashing away beofre any smartarse tells me that!

So, is there anything else i should be looking for seeing as 2 blokes in a cark coloured volvo arent thin on the ground?

Also they tend to have strange looking grilles - because they need to hide their flashing blue lights somewhere.

The dash tends to be cluttered with all kinds of electronic paraphenalia.

If you look at all suspect Volvos/Omegas as you pass - they aren't hard to spot.

In My experience, there are no hard or fast rules, but just some simple observation can save a lot of hassle.

The car, will be a high powered saloon estate or 4x4. Forces are now begining to vary their vehicles, but scorpios, carltons, mondeo V6's, Volvo T5, Peugeot 406, even subaru Imprezas.

Arieals is now not a great way to spot the cars, certainly if you see a car with 3or more ariels on the roof its likely to be an unmarked unit, but, they have now begun to put the ariels in A and B posts and other areas (oer missus) to hide them.

A Definate give away are the passengers, and needs you to be travelling not to fast to make a distinction. Certainly flourescent jackets , shirts with epulettes, two male or just two travellers is a bit of a giveaway.

The interior. A lot of unmarked cars also have cameras so look inside to see if you can spot a dash mounted camera or even the dash mounting kit, If there's a camera its a copper.

The real key is just observation, no one thing is really going to give it away, just good observation and care and attention. Be careful out there

The easyest way to spot em is by there driving style.
and positioning on the road.

once that draws your attention then have a look for other stuff.

They stick out a mile from there driving style.
you cant miss em.

By 'giveaway style of driving' you mean the way that they're the only car still on your tail as you pass 130?

Another sign to look for to help confirm is two rear view mirrors. Often overlaid so they look like one very large mirror. Okay it could be a driving instructor on his/her day off but when added to the other signs....

Certainly flourescent jackets ...

not true, as for interior mirrors.. not true. theres an unmarked in warwickshire with an extended exterior mirror on the passenger side. - not easy to spot when your in the outside lane..

as for grills in the front? too late, if you NEED to look for them, ideally it doesnt want to be after you passed them!!

True S2ooz. None of these are foolproof as they keep trying to reduce the ways by which they can be spotted.

As Outlaw say the best way is to try and spot the way they drive.

White shirts on both people in car. Extra aerial that is usually rear nearside wing mounted, not the on-glass type.

Usually top of range powerfull engined cars like Volvo 960, Omega 3.0. Usually dark colours or silver.
