I think by now we all know that cameras are here to stay - personally I wish they had never been invented and realise that I am not alone. However, if we have to live our lives with these bloody things every so many yards apart maybe this problem could be tackled another way.

I could live with the cameras (if I have to) if they could only be used if a particular colour in the UK and clearly visible, not behind trees as many still are. There would also have to be a sign say 50m before them showing you are entering a camera area and what speed limit it is enforcing. This way you know it is there and if you ignore the warning and get nicked you deserve it, eliminating the NIP debates. The only other enforcement would be marked cars, no more traps of any kind.

The only reason the government would have to argue against this sort of proposal would be the fact that they would lose the money, which they have always maintained was not the reason for having them – interesting. Surely someone like the AA or RAC who between them are taking money from about 20 million motorists could take it upon themselves to campaign for something like this. It would be the best advertising they would ever get. What do you reckon daft idea?

Nice idea. Will never happen.

Bite the bullet and invest in some technology to tell you where they are.

I've enjoyed driving a lot more since. And I'm safet too because I'm not looking for yellow boxes all the time.

Gotta agree with Mr E. I've got a fully loaded camera-protected car and I can now drive around keeping my eyes looking for potential hazards rather than looking for potential hidden-cameras.

Ok, always willing to consider another tack to make life a little easier.

What have you bought, how does it work and how reliable is it? Is it fitted as opposed to thrown in the car and does it work with all types of cameras or hand held laser type things? Are you 100% confident when driving with it working or is there still that little doubt it may miss one?
