Yesterday as I was pulling out of a junction i kicked up some gravel which smashed the car behinds headlight can he claim off me for the headlight?

Yes. At least I did for a smashed windscreen in the same circumstances.

How will he know it was you that did it?

I have a smashed headlight now, and have absolutely no idea how it happened, it was just like it when I got out of the car one day.

it was an audi with those clear headlamps. as i pulled away i heard a the sound of smashing glass falling on the road but hopfully he won't have heard the noise and not notice for a couple of days. I sort of half know him so if he did notice he could easly catch up with me
