I live in a dead-end narrow Victorian terrace street which has parking down one side and double-yellows with a flat pavement on the other.
The parking is residents only, and as most people work in the centre of town or catch a train from the station a lot of cars don't move. Finding a space is nigh-on impossible so needless to say everyone parks on the double-yellows over the pavement - there is no choice (especially for us car commuters
)
One house consider the double-yellow outside their house to be their property. We've had warning notes when we've left our car there for just 10mins.
Last night they called up the BiB and had a car removed from outside their house. Then promptly stuck one of their own 4 or 5 cars in the same space.
Did I mention they have 4 spaces of their own offroad? And 2 residential parking permits
Funny thing is the BiB left the remaining 4 or 5 illegally parked cars - even stranger is that BiB turned up for this (on a Police mountain bike of all things)!!
