Reduce Road Deaths or Robbery Statistics ?
Discussion
The Government are at it again im afraid !
The already dwindling numbers of Traffic Officers are once again being 'trimmed' with the result that they are being taken off 'core traffic duties' to again patrol areas with high street robbery statistics.
Iam saddened by this and especially after being told that Street Crime now presides over Roads Policing and as a result, resources are being diverted to this in order to ensure that the Govenment at least shows that it is reducing the robbery figures.
I get the impression that more Speed cameras mean more Trafpols to do everyday Policing which can only be bad for us all.
What do you think??????

The reason that i post this is that yesterday i was diverted from the extremities of West London to the extremities of East London, during rush hour to deal with a simple RTA (I had to attend because of the nature of the road etc).....sadly it took nearly an hour to get there with the result that this simple RTA had turned into something a lot more serious as a result, although not life threatening (luckily).
All this as a direct result of shifting manpower.

Sadly I think you're right. Of coure if all the traffic guys did their primary tasking perhaps that then, with the passage of time, would eventually lead to a reduction in revenue from all those scammeras etc.
And we can't have that can we? MoJo.

Of course it's bad, we've been banging on for ages that it's bad, Cameras do not quell the rapidly increasing cases of road rage, aggresive driving and plain lunacy. If it's done under the speed limit it is practically legal!
We need more plod and we need to unburden them from red tape and political correctness.......and we need deltaf to get busy with the swan vestas
More police on the road, more tickets given/advice given = more respect= a more fair system of road policing, no /tax/insurance/current keeper, drive a completly illegal car and you can never get caught if no traf pols about.
Plus bring back the solo's, when was the last time you saw a police motorcyclist? We want more

What's something a lot of people say when they get stopped from a traffic offence Tony? Isn't it something along the lines of "Why aren't you out catching REAL criminals like muggers, burglars and rapists?"
[devil's advocate]
They're only doing what the people want!
[/devil's advocate]
It's just a shame that "the people" are a bunch of clueless f
kwits!
