Failure to provide details
Discussion
What happens if details of driver are not sent? Presumably they do for S172, which as far as I understand means three points and a £250 fine. But I am told they can still take the original offence into account and add that on. Is that right? How can that work if nobody has admitted to the offense?

indeed - astonishing that everyone who gets done for anything which will be more than a 3 pts, 60 quid fine doesnt just take this route......
That's just not *cricket* mate!
If everyone were to do this, the scamera partnerships would go out of business. Jobs would be lost, families torn apart.
People should NOT ask for photographic evidence, they should blindly fill in and sign any form they've been sent and take it on the chin. Great nations have been built on blind trust towards the authorities.
Just me twopence

Well I was caught by a speed camera recently but after reading loads of info (safespeed etc) decided to sign the form and take the fine and points.
Basically after all my reading, no-one person or organisation could say for definite that 'Yes' you will get away with it' and I couldnt take the risk. It certainly isnt as simple as just failing to sign the form and no legal precedent has been set. And if you dont get off you could be faced with legal expenses and court costs. Its ok if you've got the kind of money that Dwight Yorke has......
