Was it you on the A40 this morning at about 11am, doing some speed checking with two other police officers. I did spot you was going to stop for a chat but couldn't think of a place to park up as the device was at the front of the van not the rear.
Next time maybe

Was that one of your mini-gatso devices which takes pics from the rear?

Why three officers as i thought they were designed for single person operation?

I am on nights with Tony Rec and the other four Traff Pols deemed adequate for night duty coverage of North West London...I mean we are good but not that good....! The person on the A40 is a new chap and was probably recieving his continuation training, hence the unusual number of people, we usually just have one Camera Van operator. They were 99.9% likely to be using the mini Gatso, that does take rather splendid pictures from the rear in colour. If you do pass it again, stop (you can pull in close to the front nearside kerb in front of the camera unit) speak to the operator and tell him Will Crash sent you...he will answer your questions.

Why the use of the mini gatso (defo looked like one to me too) as opposed to a LTI 20-20 ?

The LTI 20-20 is currently only used on special operations where we are targeting inappropriate riding/driving. For example m/c`s filtering at inappropriate speeds.
I will be floating around the A40 next week on earlies in an unmarked Omega saloon (grey or red) give me a wave, the car will be three up (yet more training)
